Self catering holiday cottages on an organic dairy farm near Exeter in Devon

Situated in the very heart of the beautiful Devon countryside, only a 30 minute drive away from the city of Exeter and within easy reach of the coast and moors,  Highdown Organic Farm is the ideal place to take a holiday or short break at any time of the year.

There are three well equipped cottages to choose from accommodating seven, four & two people plus babies.  They are peacefully situated with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, ideal for both couples and families to take time out and relax.   All three cottages can be hired for larger parties, ie for a family gathering or a special celebration.

Choosing to stay at Highdown Organic Farm, means that your holiday needn't cost the earth - for both you and the planet.  The cottages have a Bronze Award with the Green Tourism Business Scheme and during your stay you will be able to experience many ways of having a good value holiday  whilst reducing your carbon footprint  - here are a few suggestions:-
  • You are welcome to spend time exploring our farm by taking a stroll through the many fields, spotting the rich array of wildlife along the way.  Watch the milking and the calves being fed (certain times of the year only).  Ride on Merlin our Shetland pony.  Have fun by playing in our play area, flying kites in our field or go fishing on the River Culm.
  • Reduce food miles by ordering an organic fruit or veg box for your stay from Riverford Farm
  • Buy locally produced food from one of the farm shops in the area
  • Eat at one of the local pub or restaurant that pride themselves in serving excellent home cooked and local produce
  • Visit local attractions such as Killerton House, Padbrook Golf course, Diggerland and Quadworld
  • Spend the day cycling on one of the many excellent cycle tracks.  We have undercover storage available if you would like to bring your own bikes
  • Visit other parts of  Devon by taking a train ride along one of th picturesque branch lines, such as the Tarka line
  • Discover the local area by taking a walk on one of the nearby footpaths
